SwampThe Swamp biome covers an area of 150 kilometers, more than 1% of the national territory, consists mainly of savanna steppe flooded in the most part. The Pantanal is in only two Brazilian states, Mato Grosso occupies 7% of the territory and Mato Grosso do Sul 25%. The region is an alluvial plain influenced by rivers that drain the Upper Paraguay River Basin, where it develops a fauna and flora of rare beauty and abundance.
